Painted Sculpture of Clay Figure Zhang

　　Its founder, Zhang Mingshn(1826-1906) was an expertise in producing clay figurines. He could make one in the gusset while talking with others, simply by hand feeling. The clay figurines are characterized by its lifelike appearance and prominent style. It inherited the tradition of color drawing and New Year Picture, which has become a renowned folk craftwork in China. The Painted Sculpture of Clay Figure Zhang has developed into the fourth generation.

　　Kites of Wei

　　Famous handicraftsman Wei Yuantai(1872-1961) devoted all his life to kites. He produced about 200 kinds of kites including flat style, three-dimensinal style and combination style, by which he was called “Kite Wei”. Its selective materials, various styles, refined craftwork, vivid color and its steadiness, characterize kites of Wei, for which it has won Golden Prize in Panama Exposition.

　　Yangliuqing Folk Painting

　　It is one of the three famous New Year Pictures in China, which first appeared in Yangliuqing Town, west suburb of Tianjin in 17th century. Yangliuqing New Year Picture combines the methods of woodcarving and manual color drawing characters. Yangliuqing New Year Picture takes as the raw materials the daily life, folk custom and history stories processed either directly or indirectly, which is a popular folk art widely accepted by many people.
