The 6th East Asian Games--Emblem

  The Emblem, based on the letter “J” (initial of Jin, the short form of Tianjin), isdesigned into the image both of the waves of the Haihe River (mother river of Tianjin)and of the athletic track. It also echoes the Lucky Clouds, a traditional graphic patternadopted for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, and the Jixiangornis, a legendary birddenoting good luck and happiness. The red, green and blue colors used for the emblemsymbolize the peoples of East Asia, as well as their aspirations and good wishes.
