29th EAGA Council Meeting Held

The 29th EAGA Council Meeting was held in Tianjin on October 15, 2012. Representatives of the 9 EAGA member and Member NOCs attended the meeting, and Tianjin East Asian Games Organizing Committee also sent representatives to the meeting.

EAGA Council President Liu Peng presided at the meeting. The meeting took work reports of the Rules and Sports Committee and the Medical Committee, and adopted the preparatory work progress report of the 6th East Asian Games Organizing Committee. The meeting also deliberated and adopted the Chef de Mission Dossier for the 6th East Asian Games, Technical Handbook of the 6th East Asian Games and other documents.

The East Asian Games is a quadrennial sports festival and has been held five times, respectively in Shanghai (China) (1993), Busan (Korea) (1997), Osaka (Japan) (2001), Macau (China) (2005) and Hong Kong (China) (2009). The 6th East Asian Games will be held in Tianjin from October 6th to 15th, 2013, arranging 289 competition events and 24 sports, including Athletics, Football, Swimming and Wushu.
