Enorth.com.cn: On the 8th Aug, the 14th FINA Women's Water Polo World Cup has begun in Tianjin. Eight teams participated in this sports event, including Hungary, America, Canada, Russia, Greece, Australia, Italy and China. This the first time for Tianjin to host such a international water polo event.
The 14th FINA Women's Water Polo World Cup will be held in Tianjin Swimming $ Diving Hall from 8th to 13th Aug.
At 7:00 p.m.,the opening ceremony was held in Tianjin Swimming $ Diving Hall. On the opening ceremony, Sun Hailin, vice mayor of Tianjin; Li Hua, vice president and secretary General of China Swimming Association and Cornel Marculescu, executive director of FINA gave the opening speeches respectively.
Then hundreds of children also gave an excellent performance which stands for "Harmonious, friendship and peaceful". It embodys the succeed of holding the 14th FINA Women's Water Polo World Cup.
Before the opening ceremony, two matches has been ended.In group A, USA defeated against Russia with 11-10. Italy won Hungary with the score of 8-7.
